The Healing Path
I'm Brian Cooper, a licensed massage therapist and the founder of Open Way Healing and Massage. My work centers on helping people recover from injuries, move with greater ease, and remain active in the pursuits that bring meaning and enjoyment to their lives.
My particular interest is working with recreational athletes and active adults who want to keep doing what they love, whether that's playing tennis, golfing, hiking, practicing yoga, or simply moving comfortably through everyday life. I have a special interest in addressing common overuse injuries and muscular tension, particularly tennis elbow and golf-related shoulder pain.
My approach to massage combines therapeutic techniques, including deep tissue massage, assisted stretching, and Swedish massage, with a broader understanding of the relationship between movement, stress, and well-being. I believe effective massage should do more than provide temporary relief. It should help people develop a better understanding of their bodies and support their long-term health and mobility.
Before becoming a massage therapist, I spent years studying psychology, teaching middle school science, and practicing yoga. I hold a master's degree in transpersonal psychology and have trained in Hatha Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga, as well as aerial yoga. These experiences have shaped my belief that healing is a deeply individual process and that meaningful care begins with listening.
At Open Way Healing, I strive to create a welcoming, thoughtful environment where clients feel heard and where treatment is tailored to their individual needs and goals. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing persistent muscular tension, or simply hoping to move more freely, my intention is to help you find a path toward greater comfort, resilience, and vitality.
I believe that an active, fulfilling life is worth investing in, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help people continue pursuing one.
